Frame Colours

Here at Severn Vale, we understand that style is essential. That’s why our doors come in various designs and colours, allowing you to mix and match until you find the door that perfectly suits your home. Whether you’re looking for a calming tone or want to add a fresh feel to your home, we’ve got you covered.

The Advantages Of Composite Doors

Endurance composite doors have numerous benefits for the homeowner. For starters, they’re remarkably tough and have even been demonstrated to withstand direct impacts from sledgehammers. The sturdy profiles make them a burglar’s nightmare, and even the most determined intruder will have a hard time forcing them open.

Additionally, they provide excellent acoustic insulation. If you live near an airport or by a busy road, a composite door is a must-have. They have accredited dB ratings as high as 36, so will help you get a calmer, quieter living space.

Thermal Insulation

Thanks to their robust structure, our composite doors provide exceptional insulation. The 48mm core gives them a density that makes it easier to trap household heat, and they achieve U-values of 1.4 W/m²K, so you’ll use your central heating less and your monthly heating costs will drop.

They also provide long-lasting protection against the worst types of weather. Their seals eliminate draughts and prevent water from getting into the house, so you can rely on them to keep your living space comfortable for years to come.

High Security Composite Doors

Our solid timber core composite doors have many advantages over standard, foam-filled composite doors. The 48mm thick, cross bonded, laminated solid core is far stronger than foam alternatives and 10% thicker than most of the other composite doors on the market. This offers the strength and security to give you peace of mind that your home is protected to the highest standard.

Alongside this, we also have advanced locks to deter more sophisticated break-in attempts. We use the Sold Secure Diamond Grade ABS Ultimate locking cylinder, which have been tested to Secured By Design specified PAS 24 security guidelines. They’ll resist any determined attempts to pick or manipulate them and include an innovative hidden lock that activates when attacked. They can be relied on to keep your home secure.

Frequently Asked Questions

What Are Composite Doors?

Composite doors are an innovative type of door. The standard front door is usually made with a single material (wood, uPVC or metal), but composite doors consist of multiple materials, built around a central core. At Severn Vale, our composite doors feature a sturdy, 48mm thick cross laminated timber core, making them the strongest on the market. Our composite doors are as versatile and attractive as any regular entrance door but offer unparalleled security and thermal insulation.

Is A Timber Core Better Than A Foam One?

We’d argue that yes, they are. There are composite doors that use foam cores, but we prefer the timber ones as they provide an extra level of strength and resilience. The 48mm timber core is remarkably robust and offers increased insulation against heat loss and external noise. If you want maximum security and a warmer home, the timber core is the best choice.

What Personalisation Options Are There?

Being one of the most popular designs, we ensure that our composite doors are made bespoke to order. Browse our beautiful colours, finishes, hardware and design options and create your dream door installation.

How Often Do I Need To Care For My Composite Door?

Our composite doors are highly durable and have an estimated lifespan of thirty years, but if kept in good condition they can last even longer. We recommend wiping the door down with a damp cloth and cleaning the letterplate, handle and other accessories once every month (avoid using any harsh chemicals or solvents), and lubricating all the moving parts with a silicone spray (except the locking cylinder) twice a year.

To keep the lock working, we suggest dusting the key with graphite powder and inserting it into the lock 10-15 times. Do this once every six months and it should keep working beautifully for a long time.

Will The Colour Fade Over Time?

No, this is another advantage. We used modern powder-coating methods to give our composite doors an exceptional, long-lasting finish. They don’t fade or discolour even with prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and will retain their good looks for an extremely long time.

What Hardware Do You Have Available?

Adding the final touch to the interior and exterior of your dream composite doors, we offer a handful of beautiful accessories. Choose from our range of letter plates, handles, chains, spy holes, numbers and knockers in various materials and finishes to create a harmonious appearance.
